Bob OConnell is a mature, emerging artist.
He works with acrylic on canvas. Bright colors. Strong light and
shadows. (Yin and Yang.) Symbolism. Satire. Imagery. With the
focus on the individual. He sees meaning in the simplest of scenes
and the most common individual-- which he is.
Philosophy, his B.A., plays a major role in Bobs work.
He adheres to the view of C.G. Jung:
it is not the
universal and the regular that characterizes the individual, but
rather the unique (who) is not to be understood as a recurring
unit but as something unique and singular
